We Are Envisioning
Alex Enabnit – Research Editor
This weekend we wrapped up our “We Are” series about who we are as a church, looking at what we are envisioning for the future.
Reading excerpts from Nehemiah, Cal talked us through the incredible story of one man who imagined and cast vision for a better future for Israel. Nehemiah, upon hearing about the broken state of Israel’s city walls, traveled from his homeland to his promised land, rallied the Israelites, and began rebuilding the walls with their help. He experienced trouble from outsiders and insiders so bad that workers had to work with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other! But eventually they got it done; they rebuilt the wall that was so vital for a city to be safe from attack. And it all started with a vision.
As a church, Central has a vision as well. Just like it was Nehemiah’s vision to build walls, ours is to tear walls down – to remove any barriers that stand between man and God. One way that we are doing that is by building a home for our Queen Creek campus which, for the past seven years, has been meeting in a school. And today we are celebrating with a groundbreaking of that property!
Cal asked for two things of us to help achieve this vision: first, to pray daily for the Queen Creek campus. And second, to give generously so that this church will continue to thrive.
