Alex Enabnit – Programming Coordinator

This weekend we had the special privilege of having Randy Frazee speak at Central to kick off our 31 week journey through The Story. Randy is the senior pastor of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio and, with Max Lucado, compiled The Story.

In his message, Randy shared an excerpt from The Story about Stephen, the first martyr of Christianity. Stephen chose to align his life to God’s story, becoming a protagonist, and eventually dying because of it. All the while, the “antagonist” Saul approved of Stephen’s death, taking the persecution of Christians into Jerusalem. In God’s story, we either play the protagonist or the antagonist, but the good news is that it’s never too late to switch sides. Saul, who formerly spearheaded the persecution of Christians, made a dramatic switch – not only did he become a Christ follower (taking the new name “Paul”), he planted 10 churches and wrote 13 of our 27 books of the New Testament!

Are you ready to start The Story? If you haven’t bought the books yet, there’s still time! Get your copies in the Central Bookstore and get ready for a life-changing series. You will never regret aligning yourself with God’s story!

Verses and quotes from the message:

Acts 6:10; Acts 7:55-56; Acts 7:58
