Alex Enabnit-Teaching Resident

Have you ever showed off? Today we looked at Luke 20:45-Luke 21:4, a passage that contrasts two groups: the teachers of the law from Luke 20:45 who liked to be noticed and recognized publicly and the widow in the beginning of Luke 21 was only concerned with what God saw.

What is the audience you are catering to? Are you focusing your time and energy to impressing other people, or is your motivation in life to be noticed by God? Attention you direct toward yourself is attention diverted away from God. Make sure that the attention you receive gets pointed toward the One who can give much more than temporary happiness; point people to Jesus.

Other verses from the message:

James 3:1; Matthew 5:16; Matthew 6:1; Luke 16:15
