Have you ever found yourself saying, “Could anything else go wrong right now?” or, “Why does this happen to me?” If so, don’t worry, you are in good company. But that in itself is the problem, because you may not have known you were in good company. You may have thought you were the only one who had this particular struggle, addiction, problem, disaster. This my friends is exactly where the enemy wants you to be, and how he wants you to feel….isolated and discouraged. Let me share a thought with you that may shed some light on how to battle the enemy in his schemes to isolate you.
I have done this long enough to know and understand that everyone struggles….everyone. The sooner you know that the better. Out of this understanding I developed a saying that I repeat a lot. Ready for it….”Most of us are like the rest of us.” I know, I know, it is not brilliant, but it truly helps when the enemy is attempting to isolate you in a struggle. When you begin to feel the weight or pressure of isolation, say out loud “most of us are like the rest of us” and then talk or confess to a close friend or mentor what you are feeling. I promise you this will bring healing, it has for me, and if it has for me I trust it will for you as well, because…..most of us are like the rest of us.
