Alex Enabnit – Programming Coordinator

Last week we kicked off a new series called “Plan B” based on the book by Pete Wilson. We already established that you can’t control what happens to you, but you can control what it does to you. This week we looked at what happens when we jump to conclusions.

In the message, Cal talked about two stories from the Bible. The first, found in 2 Kings 4, was about Elisha resurrecting a boy from the dead. The second, taken from Luke, was about the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Both of these stories had something in common: between the death (a horrible moment) and the resurrection (an incredible moment) was a huge time of uncertainty! In the case of Jesus, between His death on Friday and His resurrection on Sunday was a Saturday where not much happened. Saturday was a day of hopelessness.

Many of us are in a Saturday in life right now, whether it’s a marriage, career, finances, health, or dreams, many of us are experiencing hopelessness. But the good news is, God is the God of the impossible! The same God who raised Jesus from the dead is the God who can make a difference in your life. Have you invited God into your “Saturday” yet?

Verses from the message:

2 Kings 4:8-37; Psalm 37:4; Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27; Luke 23:44-48; Ephesians 1:18-20

Big Idea: Until you reach the end, don’t reach a conclusion!
