Tenacious O

The early 90’s brought about the rock-comedy of a band called “Tenacious D”. Jack Black, whom most kids now know as Kung-Fu Panda, was the front-man for the band alongside another comedian, Kyle Gass. I “almost” saw them live at the height of their popularity when they opened for Weezer and Jimmy Eat World at what was then known as the America West Arena.  The stomach flu allowed my brother-in-law to take in that show instead of myself. Odd as it may seem, that memory broke from my subconscious mind this morning as I was spending some quiet time reading Scripture.

Prayer 2012

The 24-7 prayer event  is an interactive time with God.  It features 10 stations designed to cause you to think and reflect and lead you into prayer.  Our theme this year is taken from dramatic messages of the Old Testament prophets.

You have arrived at the final station for your 24/7 Prayer experience. We hope you have enjoyed your time at all the prayer stations and have truly experienced the inspirational and moving thoughts that prayer can bring.

Below we are asking you to leave any comments or thoughts you have regarding your 24/7 Prayer experience. Fill out your name and email and then write in the comment section. We pray that you will walk away with whole new meaning of what prayer is.

If you have come across this post and would like to participate or know more, please take a look at the virtual 24/7 Prayer online at www.CentralAZ.com/247Online

The Worry/Prayer Equation

Tony Ziolko – Worship Resident

“I just don’t understand. I just don’t know what else to do. I pray about it, yet nothing seems to be happening. Is God ignoring me?”

Ever have this conversation? Yea, don’t lie; you know you have. Unfortunately, this has been a recurring conversation recently in my life. Just recently, Switchfoot released a new record and some lyrics from the title track struck a chord with my life, and maybe yours:

Sweet Tea

Tony Ziolko – Worship Resident

I LOVE SWEET TEA! Seriously, it’s almost an addiction. The moment I see sweet tea or hear that it is within my reach, I cannot control the urge. There is something about it that draws me in. That something is the only variation between regular iced tea and sweet tea. It’s the the simplest of ingredients, yet makes all the difference in the world. In fact, I know people who don’t drink tea, or iced tea, but love sweet tea. And the only difference is sugar. That basic, simple ingredient.

We cannot deny the power of sugar. Sugar has the ability to transform food.
